Anybody who's known me more than 15 minutes knows that I'm a diehard "browncoat," i.e., BIG fan of the much-too-brief (half season) swashbuckling sci-fi TV series Firefly, which appeared on Fox almost three years ago. I liked the show's premise. I liked its FX. I liked its writing. I loved its politics. But what really kept me glued for those short 14 weeks was Jewel Staite, who played 20-year-old Kaylee, the most adorable crewmember of the Serenity spaceship. She was the ship's mechanic...and the story of how she joined the crew (detailed in one episode) is unforgettably HOT.
Thank gawd, the complete Firefly series is available on DVD, and I watch it regularly. But best of all, a movie based on the series, titled Serenity, will be in theaters September 30.
Posted by Wally Conger, who would let Kaylee work on his Accord's transmission anytime.
