Beautiful actress and model Caroline Munro never played the original Burroughs' heroine Dejah Thoris, but she did play Dian the Beautiful in the big screen production of ERB's Pellucidar story At the Earth's Core. For some reason they got the character's name wrong in the film. Which isn't all that surprising considering they got most everything else wrong as well.
But the one thing they got right was casting Caroline Munro as the quintessential Burroughs' heroine.
Simply compare the B/W publicity still of her from The Golden Voyage of Sinbad movie to the original cover art portraying Dian from All-Story's first publication of At the Earth's Core along with the cheesecake photo of Caroline from the movie At The Earth's Core - and nothing could be more apparent - she's the perfect image of a Burroughs' Heroine.
